About Chris Byrne

Chris Byrne (he/him/his) is an E-500 Registered Yoga Teacher and a Continuing Education Provider with the Yoga Alliance. He is trained in vinyasa, restorative, and yin yoga practices. He is an Accessible Yoga® Ambassador, a Balanced Athlete® Coach, and a Level 1 Functional Movement Screen® provider. Chris is a trauma-informed yoga teacher with Sea Change Yoga facilitating practices with incarcerated youth and adults, as well as with individuals who are in recovery from substance use disorder. He can be found teaching yoga & meditation classes in Maine and beyond as well as online. He provides consulting, mentoring, and training to other yoga teachers and is the owner of Metta Movement, an online education resource for developing mindfulness, meditation, energy healing, and yoga practices.

Chris’ passion is creating an environment that invites all people to feel welcomed and encouraged to explore their current experience through the practice of yoga. He integrates purposeful movements, intentional breath work, and mindfulness meditation that is accessible for all bodies, abilities, and life experiences.

Beyond the yoga studio Chris lives in Biddeford, Maine and is a husband, son, brother, uncle, friend, a cat dad to two super rad cats, and is a people leader at a local biotech company. He is sasquatchian-sized slow runner, loves to travel, is a connoisseur of chocolate chip cookies, and enjoys finding himself in the mountains and forests, and beaches of Maine.
