Kirsten Adler is a Pilates, GYROTONIC\u00ae, and interdisciplinary movement teacher with over 19 years of experience helping people improve strength, reduce pain, and increase flexibility.<\/p>\n

Kirsten\u2019s passion to explore the parameters of dance led her to explore various movement modalities, including: Pilates, Gyrotonic, yoga, Alexander Technique, and the Bartenieff Fundamentals. Sessions with Kirsten include a synthesis of techniques and a dose of humor.<\/p>\n

Kirsten graduated from The Boston Conservatory with a BFA in dance and her certifications include: 500 hour yoga (Ishta Yoga), Pilates mat and equipment (Sal Anthony’s Movement Salon and Balanced Body), Gyrotonic Level 1 (Vincent Macagone), CoreAlign Level 1 (Finetune Pilates), & Pre\/Postnatal Pilates (Jennifer Gianni).\u00a0While teaching in NYC for 16 years, Kirsten was fortunate to study with master teachers Clarice Marshall, Peggy Wallin-Hart, Lesley Powell, Jim Philips, and Blossom Leilani Crawford.<\/p>\n

Kirsten moved to Portland, Maine with her husband and son in 2020 and founded the Explore Movement Collective in 2023.<\/p>\n

Cate Beehan is a certified Pilates teacher with over 15 years of teaching experience and helping people feel better in their bodies.<\/p>\n

A native New Yorker, Cate has always been someone on the move. She trained in classical ballet for 15 years and studied with the prestigious New York City Ballet and Pennsylvania Ballet. After deciding to focus on a career in acting, Cate moved to Los Angeles and sought a workout that would challenge and keep her interest over time.<\/p>\n

Cate fell in love with Pilates after her first session and as a teacher loves that every body can benefit from the practice. Cate is pre\/postnatal certified and most recently received certification in Anatomy Trains Structural Integration (ATSI). She is a Board-Certified Structural Integrator (BCSI)\u00a0and had the opportunity to train with Tom Myers (founder of Anatomy Trains) in Warpole, Maine. Cate brings a keen eye for detail, paired with a deep knowledge of anatomy to her work.<\/p>\n

Jordi Mas is a Certified Pilates and Fitness Instructor with 30 years of experience working in the health & fitness industry.<\/p>\n

Jordi specializes in post-rehabilitation, stress management, chronic pain, and overall quality of life. His approach is holistic, taking the whole person into account, to get to the causal factors of a client\u2019s challenges and to create a safe and effective path to health, happiness and improved daily life.<\/p>\n

Jordi is a Certified Fitness & Indoor Cycling Instructor through ISSA (International Sports Science Association) and a Certified Pilates Instructor (mat and apparatus) through International Pilates under the apprenticeship of Ivon Dahl, PhD. He also apprenticed in Strength Training and Body Sculpting with Elio Samame, Positive Psychology and Counseling with Dr. Mic Mackenzie, and Spirituality, Religion and Philosophy with George Falcon, Qigong Master.<\/p>\n

Jordi moved to Portland from Southern California in early 2022 to enjoy a different way of life here in Maine.<\/p>\n

Stacey fell in love with GYROTONIC\u00ae while recovering from the birth of her children. In addition to restoring her body, it reconnected her with the motions she loved as a dancer and became not only a passion, but a new career. After practicing regularly since 2012, Stacey studied with Master Trainer Kathy VanPatten to become a teacher in 2019, working out of her home studio in Marin and at The Seed Center in San Francisco.\u00a0Stacey is a GYROTONIC\u00ae<\/span> Certified Trainer and is also certified in a GYROKINESIS\u00ae<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Specialized Course.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Stacey\u2019s love of movement began during her training as a modern dancer while growing up in New York.\u00a0After graduating from Colby College, she discovered her passion for education. Her\u00a0Master\u2019s degree from Stanford in International Educational Policy launched\u00a0an extensive\u00a0career in international educational development.<\/span><\/p>\n

Stacey brings her dance and education background to her GYROTONIC\u00ae teaching. She is a thoughtful listener and facilitator, as well as a lifelong learner. She partners with clients to optimize their practice for their own needs, while helping them gain strength, improved flexibility, increased physical awareness, and ease within the body.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"yoga-pilates-gyrotonic-qualifications\"Born in Midlothian, Virginia, Kirsten Adler has been studying movement most of her life. Her dance training began at six years old with The Richmond Ballet in Richmond, VA and continued at the prestigious Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen, MI, where she graduated with a fine arts award in dance. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, Magna Cum Laude, from The Boston Conservatory.<\/p>

Kirsten's passion to explore the parameters of dance led her to explore various movement modalities, which have included: Pilates, Gyrotonic\u00ae, yoga, The Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais, and the Bartenieff Fundamentals.<\/p>

After becoming certified as a 500 hour and restorative yoga instructor from Be Yoga (now ISHTA yoga), she went on to continue her studies in yoga anatomy and breath at The Breathing Project. Kirsten received her Pilates mat and equipment certification from Sal Anthony's Movement Salon, and continued her training with Balance Body. She received her Gyrotonic\u00ae Level 1 from East Village Movements and completed the shoulder girdle applications course with Uwe Herbstreit. Most recently, Kirsten has taken workshops in fascial fitness.<\/p>

Kirsten has over 10 years of teaching experience and has taught for many organizations including Goldman Sachs, Yogaworks, Gramercy Pilates Fitness, and The Surrey Spa.
